I am very excited to be joining the Birnham Woods team. I just moved to the Houston area from Corpus Christi. I started working in education as a 7th and 8th grade social studies teacher, and led the social studies department on my campus. After teaching for 3 years I moved on to become the school counselor at Gibson Elementary School in Corpus Christi. My bachelor’s degree is in Psychology from TAMU-CC and my master’s degree is in School Counseling from UT Tyler. My goal for the Birnham Woods guidance program is to further develop your child’s social, emotional, and educational growth. I utilize a variety of books, hands on activities, and community resources in order to encourage meaningful learning and active participation.

In collaboration with parents and community members Birnham Woods Elementary will provide a safe, caring, and positive learning environment that celebrates diversity and instills a desire for learning while meeting the individual needs of all students.  Through motivation and high expectations, every child will achieve personal and academic success today and for a lifetime.
